Today, Seth Magaziner accepted the endorsement of Latino Construction Workers Association (LCWA) for his re-election as General Treasurer.
“Treasurer Magaziner stayed committed to his promise to use the Treasurer’s office to promote job creation,” said Luis Martinez, Executive Director of the Latino Construction Workers Association. “His support of green infrastructure, school construction and small businesses is essential to the success of our industry, and we are glad to continue to support him.”
Seth Magaziner developed and championed a plan to make a once in a generation investment repairing Rhode Island’s public schools. The investment of more than $1 billion over the next five years will put thousands of tradesmen and women to work, help expand workforce development programs in public schools, and ensure all children attend a school where they are warm, safe and dry. Seth worked with leaders in the construction industry to ensure that these projects will need to comply with state law ensuring participation by minority-owned businesses.
“I thank the Latino Construction Workers Association for their support of my re-election,” said Magaziner. “I have focused the Treasurer’s office on strengthening Rhode Island’s economy by promoting jobs and helping families meet their daily financial challenges. I will continue to make financial empowerment a priority, and thank the LCWA for their partnership.”
