AFSCME Council 94 Endorses Seth Magaziner for Treasurer
Affirming the need for a clean break from the mismanagement holding Rhode Island back, AFSCME (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees) Rhode Island Council 94 endorsed Seth Magaziner for Treasurer.
“Rhode Island needs a Treasurer who will bring a steady hand to our state’s finances, and ensure that the people who work hard for our state every day have the dignity of a secure retirement,” said J. Michael Downey, Council 94 President. “Seth’s significant investment experience makes him a clear choice for our members and all who care about stabilizing our state’s finances.”
AFSCME Council 94 represents over 10,000 active and retired members and 60 locals around the state. AFSCME members work as both public and private employees for the state, performing jobs as diverse as cooks to biologists, sheriffs and airport firefighters to nursing assistants and school bus drivers and from plumbers to librarians.
“I am honored to have the endorsement of AFSCME,” said Magaziner. “Rhode Island deserves leaders who will make a clean break for the tired old politics that have been holding us back. Statehouse insiders have grossly mismanaged Rhode Island’s finances for too long. I look forward to working with AFSCME to steady our state’s finances and get Rhode Island back on track.
