Providence Mayor Angel Taveras Endorses Seth Magaziner for Treasurer
Pointing to his Blueprint to create jobs in Rhode Island, Providence Mayor Angel Taveras endorsed Seth Magaziner for Treasurer of Rhode Island.
“Seth Magaziner is the clear choice for voters who care about Rhode Island and want to see it succeed,” said Mayor Taveras. “Seth has a plan to direct more of the state’s investments into main street businesses and infrastructure so that we create jobs here in Rhode Island, not other states. Seth’s investment record and fresh ideas to promote economic growth show the leadership we need to move Rhode Island forward and put people back to work.”
“I am honored to have the support of Mayor Taveras, a true public servant who cares deeply about Rhode Island,” said Magaziner. “Right now, our state is struggling. We need bold leadership and a focus on getting the economy growing and putting Rhode Islanders back to work. I know that with the right leadership, our state’s best days lie ahead.”
Mayor Taveras joins the growing list of prominent leaders supporting Magaziner, including former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts, Central Falls Mayor James Diossa, and former Congressman Patrick Kennedy.
Additionally, Seth Magaziner has been endorsed by the Rhode Island National Organization for Women, Planned Parenthood Votes! Rhode Island, Clean Water Action Rhode Island, Sierra Club of Rhode Island, Young Democrats of Rhode Island, and the Rhode Island Progressive Democrats as well as dozens of business leaders and dozens of labor unions, all united behind the need for new leadership and fresh ideas to move Rhode Island forward.
Seth Magaziner is from Bristol and lives in Providence. He worked as Vice President of Trillium Asset Management, which manages more than $1 billion in assets. He is a graduate of Brown University, and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Yale. Magaziner is the Democratic nominee for General Treasurer in the upcoming election on November 4th.
