Building Trades Council Endorses Seth Magaziner for Congress

PRESS RELEASE >>

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Building & Construction Trades Council (RIBCTC) today announced its support for General Treasurer Seth Magaziner for Congress.

“Seth Magaziner has demonstrated excellent fiscal discipline managing the assets of Rhode Island,” said President of the RIBCTC Michael F. Sabitoni. “The Treasurer displayed great leadership and courage leading the fight in modernizing our schools by furiously advocating for a once in a lifetime school construction initiative that has created hundreds of construction jobs while making long-overdue critical investments in our public school buildings. He has demonstrated that he fights for creating jobs, he fights for union workers, and he will fight for Rhode Island when he is elected to Congress.”

The RIBCTC is a coalition of seventeen (17) local trade unions with over 10,000 members in and around the state of Rhode Island.

“I am honored to today receive this endorsement,” said General Treasurer and congressional candidate Seth Magaziner. “I’ve been proud to work with the Rhode Island Building & Construction Trades Council to transform school buildings in Rhode Island, create good paying jobs, and strengthen our local economy. When I am in Congress, I will continue to fight for working families.”

Magaziner has been previously endorsed by the Rhode Island AFL-CIO, Ironworkers Local 37, Unite Here Local 26, Carpenters 330, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 51, Sheetmetal Workers Local 17, the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, and the Teamsters Local 251.
