PRESS RELEASE >>

PROVIDENCE, RI- General Treasurer and congressional candidate Seth Magaziner was endorsed today by the United Auto Workers Region 9A, representing Rhode Islanders who work at Electric Boat Groton, Bally’s Casino in Tiverton, Foxwoods Casino, and Stellantis Mopar in Framingham, MA.

“We are proud to endorse Seth who has spent the last seven years focused on creating good-paying jobs and fighting for working people,” said UAW Local 7770 President Cathy Rayner.  “Seth shares our commitment to expanding economic opportunity and speaking out on issues of social justice- we know he will fight for workers in Congress.”

Magaziner has a track record of standing up for working people.  He’s spent the last seven years creating good-paying jobs through his school construction initiative and clean energy programs. Magaziner has also consistently supported raising the minimum wage, cracking down on wage theft, and protecting the rights of workers to organize.

“Members of the United Auto Workers have helped make this country strong for generations by leading the fight to expand economic opportunity for all people,” said General Treasurer and congressional candidate Seth Magaziner.  “I’m honored to earn their support, and in Congress, I will fight with the UAW to protect the Affordable Care Act, oppose Republican efforts to cut Social Security and Medicare, and expand universal pre-K and affordable childcare so that every child gets a great start and every family can keep up with rising costs.”

Magaziner has broad support from working Rhode Islanders, having now been endorsed by 14 organizations representing workers.  Supporters are encouraged to visit sethmagaziner.com to learn more about the campaign and to follow along on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
