Fung Refuses to Condemn Donald Trump, Even After Announcing Death Wish on McConnell

PRESS RELEASE >>

WARWICK, RI- Yesterday, Allan Fung refused two opportunities to denounce former President Donald Trump for directing racial slurs at Former Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, only condemning the language itself. Additionally, Allan Fung acknowledged voting for Trump and has never voiced regrets or acknowledged any possible connection between the former president and the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. “If Allan Fung is too scared to denounce Donald Trump after inciting an insurrection, announcing a death wish for a sitting member of Congress, and hurling racist slurs against his own former cabinet secretary, then Rhode Islanders better believe Fung will never stand up to Trump and his loyal election deniers like Kevin McCarthy,” said Communications Director Patricia Socarras. “Without a doubt, a vote for Allan Fung is a vote for Trump-loyalist Kevin McCarthy and the beginning of the return of Donald Trump– which is exactly why voters will reject Fung in November.”

Fung has committed his first vote to electing Kevin McCarthy Speaker of the House, who was found to be in contact with Trump leading up to the attack on the capitol, voted against certifying election results, later walked back condemning Trump for inciting the insurrection, and refused to participate in the House select committee investigating the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.
