The Portuguese American Citizens Committee of Rhode Island (PACC of RI) has announced their endorsement of Seth Magaziner for re-election as General Treasurer.
“Seth has demonstrated his commitment to the state of Rhode Island in his promotion of small businesses, repairing our school buildings and improving financial security for all Rhode Islanders,” said David J. Andrade, President of the PACC of RI.
Since taking office as Treasurer, Seth has helped the Rhode Island economy by moving millions of dollars of the state’s cash home back home to Rhode Island community banks and credit unions to support small business lending. He has also revamped the state’s unclaimed property system, reuniting more than 50,000 Rhode Islanders with their missing money. Seth has strengthened the state’s pension fund, earning more than $1 billion. Currently, his focus is on implementing his plan to make a once-in-a-generation investment in Rhode Island’s public school buildings.
“I am honored to have the support of the PACC of RI and the Portuguese American community,” said Treasurer Magaziner. “Rhode Island is made stronger with its vibrant diversity, and the contributions of the Portuguese American community have been central to our economic recovery so far. I am committed to working with the PACC of RI to ensure all Rhode Islanders benefit from the improved economy.”
