Latest Endorsements by Brady PAC and Giffords PAC, Following Support of Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence

WARWICK, RI- General Treasurer and congressional candidate Seth Magaziner earned the endorsements of Brady PAC and Giffords PAC, recognizing him for his record of fighting for common sense gun safety reform.

“I will support common-sense gun safety bills in Congress because I want my son Max and every child to grow up in a world where they don’t have to practice lockdown drills and they can focus on being kids,” said congressional candidate and General Treasurer Seth Magaziner. “Working together with committed local advocates, we have taken steps in Rhode Island to protect victims of domestic violence and keep guns out of schools, and I look forward to bringing those same priorities to Congress.”

Treasurer Magaziner has been endorsed by the Brady PAC, Giffords PAC, Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence, and gun safety activist Fred Guttenberg who lost his daughter, Jaime, in the tragic mass shooting in Parkland, FL.  Giffords PAC is a gun safety organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.  Brady PAC was formed leading up to the 2018 midterm elections as a counterweight to the gun lobby. It upholds the policy ideals that have been championed by its sister organization, Brady— one of the nation’s oldest gun violence prevention grassroots advocacy organizations. Magaziner was also recognized by Moms Demand Action as a “gun-sense candidate.”

As General Treasurer, Magaziner divested the state pension from the manufacturers of assault rifles for civilian use, took action against Mastercard to crack down on online ghost gun sales, helped thousands of victims of domestic violence relocate from their abusers, and worked to pass red flag laws, ban guns from school grounds, and limit high-capacity magazines.

Magaziner’s Republican opponent Allan Fung has vocally opposed common-sense gun safety measures, including Rhode Island’s red flag law, which protects victims of domestic violence to empower law enforcement to confiscate weapons from those who are a danger to themselves and others.  Fung received an “A” rating from the NRA, which opposes even the most basic gun safety measures.
